Time Warp!!! Welcome to 문의문화재단진~~~

문의문화재단진 [ Moonui Moonhwaje Tanjin ] -- Munui Cultural Property Site, located in Daecheong-ho, is a beautiful place with amazing scenery. The houses are old-time-style Korea look alike. There is a so called government office which used to be the house and the office of Korea Government. There are 3 main rooms; Left room was used for people (or employee) to have breakfast, lunch and dinner; the right room was used for employees to sleep; and the middle room was used as the place for the King. There was actually no presence of the King, but people still had to respect him inside this room.

This is what written on the information board:
"Munsan-Gwan
Chungcheongbuk-do Tanggible
Cultural Property No. 49

Built in 1666, the seventh year of King Hyeon-Jong, this structure is believed to be a government office or a guest house of the Munui magistrate. It is considered as an important materials for the study of architectural styles of the middle Josun Period.

It was moved to the Munui-mweon in 1979 because of the construction of the Daecheon Dam and removed here in 1996.

On both sides of the tile-roofed main building is an attached building with a hipped and gabled roof.
There are corridors between the main buiding and the annexed ones. The materials and construction techniques indicate that the buildings were built during different periods. In fact, this kind of construction can be seen in the guest house in Jeonju, Jeon-buk Province, therefore, it looks like a guest house rather than a government office. An inscription on one of the concave tiles shows that the buiding was repaired in 1728, the fourth year of King Yeongjo. "

고인돌 [ Kuindol ] this is the place to bury people, who already died of course.

You eat tofu -- I make it!!

Tofu -- A kind of food made of soy bean. Tofu is one of famous foods you can find in Asia countries. On 30th of April, me and my classmates went to Daecheong-ho, a village just 1 hour from Daejeon city. We learnt how to make Tofu and as our appreciation, we helped them to get rid of stones from their field.

Fashion .. put it on on me :D

안녕하세요 bloggers ...
It's Friday again and it is time for me to write something here. Well, there has been a lot of things happened during this week. I don't even know where to start ....
OK, let me start from Saturday last week. I went to HomePlus to buy stuff. It is a "Walmart" kind of thing, or "Carefour" kind of thing. Everything is usual to me, not that expensive but not that cheap too. I will post the picture later (Actually, I didn't take the picture). Anyway, what do you think about Chinese people? I'm not being racist here -- all I want to say here is that they give me inspiration, I study Korean Language with them in the afternoon class. They are very diligent, very serious and very smart -- no question asked. Thumbs up for them.
Alright, Korean Language Course -- just like ESL (English for Second Language) class, there are several people who are international students. In my morning class, there are 1 from Checkoslovakia, 1 from Taiwan, 6 from China, 1 from US (who actually is a Korean), 1 from Ghana (my roommate), 1 from Vietnam, 1 from Japan, and 2 from Indonesia (YAY, including me). In my afternoon class, there are 1 from Afghanistan, and several ppl from China. It is such a fun things to have friends from around the world.
I met with my supporters several times. We had this interesting conversation about Korean manner. One day, we went to a coffee shop to study Korean Language, but it turned out to be a very interesting conversation. When I was going to pay for my coffee, he (my supporter) said no to me. You know why? He said it is because he is older, and in Korean manner/culture, older people pay for younger people. Hmm, that's interesting, but maybe it is just in formal occasion. And there was one day, my supporter told me about a holiday in Korea when every children are very happy because they bow to the elders and then they will got money from the elders. Pretty much the same like Lebaran for muslim in Indonesia. You know that in here, age is really important, it's like older you are, you will get more respect from people. I have several times been asked for how old I am. And in here, they add 1 year after you are born. For example, I was born in 1989 and I am 20 years old, but they add 1 year when you are born, so I am now 21 years old in Korea age system. interesting :).
Do you know what else is interesting? The fashion. YES ... i like Korean dress style. But, when I walked down to my class several days ago, I saw several men wearing this what I think is woman bag. Like this :
I wouldn't say it is weird, but in Indonesia (or in the US which I have been), it is kind of unusual for men to wear this what so called women bag. Anyway, it's Fashion ... It always is unusual and creative :).
I went to downtown yesterday (4/10) err Daejeon is such a big city, but I forgot to bring camera ... I know!!camera is such a blogger's weapon. Well, in Daejeon they have this underground shopping mall :) just like mall Karebosi in Makassar ^^. It is cheaper, and you have a lot of choices.
Subway~~~~very fast, yet not so comfortable. A lot of people and errr I had to stand because all seat was occupied. Anyway, it was cool. There are variety of side in Daejeon, by this I mean in the area of Chungnam, it seems very tidy, clean, very structured. But when I went to Daejeon station area, it feels really different. More people, more car, more trash on street. But yeah, there are more things to see.
In Daejeon, they have "gorengan" too. It's like fried food you can buy on the street, very yummy :) and very cheap.
Nice one ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Hey, today was the Cherry Blossom Festival in Chungnam National University. When I went there it is not really crowded. But my supporter said that he wouldn't want to come to this festival. Why? because there would be a lot of couple and he doesn't have a couple. And yeah there were a lot of couple and family. Anyway, I don't care, it was such a nice thing to see. There were several activities, but I didn't try anything, because I left my wallet T.T.

Cherry trees :)
Children is making their handprints :D

Art stuff lol -- just like in Indonesia :D

Anyway, there will be an event called Sintanjin Cherry Blossom Festival, but I still don't know where and when. And on 20 I will be going to Seoul --- YAYYYY ... finally. I will definitely write a lot of stuff and post a lot of pictures about Seoul.
--------this is for now ... comment or anything --err you know the rest ^^.
