통영시 [TongYeong Si] | City of TongYeong

September 11 2010, there was a meeting between the organizations which take care about children. There were presenting their goals and their wish for their organization and for the children.

Hmm, what is the relation between the title of this post? Yeah, after that presentation, we went down to the south part of Korea peninsula, riding a bus for 3 hours, to a city called TongYeong. Why this place? I had no idea ^^.
When we arrived at this town, I could smell the very strong of ocean smell (read: fishy). Yeah, the main product of this town is seafood. We ate sushi or raw seafood at the end of our journey.
Anyway, first destination was a museum of a very famous poet whose nickname was 청마 [CheongMa]. He was born in this city.

We also went to the birthplace of him which we were supposed to not get inside the house, of course we did unintentionally. sorry T.T;
This is the place where Cheongma spent his time to write his poems. Ignore the guy on the picture hahah.
 It is a small place, so you can't really see anything, but as always it is good to know ^^.
We then continue our trip to a neighborhood where we go through small path between houses to reach the top where we can see a nice scenery of this town and its islands. On the way, there were so many interesting painting on houses and walls.

The next destination is 해저 [HaeJeo] Tunnel which is said to be a tunnel under water but then you can't really see the water, anyway just believe it. When I was in the US, I was so excited when they said we are going to take subway which connect New Jersey and New York, and they said it is underwater. My excitement was suddenly gone when I knew I could not really see the water, they should have made it visible.

Then we went to a National Park and to the Museum of Fisheries. There were not really much things you can enjoy except the scenery of this town's islands.

As I mentioned, we closed our journey with dinner. The food was sushi or raw seafood since this town produce seafood product. I had always believed that I would never be able to eat such food, but it was actually not that bad. It is said that the price of this food is very expensive compared to other Korean food. So, I was lucky.
