East Coast Tour -- 서울 [Seoul] - 동해 [Donghae]

Hosted by Korean Culture and Information Service, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, we as the WSK member had the opportunity to experience the beauty of east coast of Korea peninsula and also 울릉도 [Ulleung Island] and 독도 [Dok Island]. The journey began on July 27 2010. It was a 4 day journey and the story began in front of the building of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. On the way to go there, I captured some picture of the monument of 세종대왕 [Sejong Daewang] Sejong the Great who created 한글 Hangul which is now the alphabet of Korean Language.

It took more than 3 hours to go to Donghae. On the way to Donghae, we stopped by a corn field to get some corn for our snack at night -- yes, we used natural resources for our food, ㅋㅋ --. Anyway, there was this lady who explained to us about how to harvest the corn. So, if you want to harvest your corn, you have to hold the stalk and gently pull out the corn, so that the stalk will not be broken and can produce more corn.

After harvesting our corn, the lady's mom then cooked the corn for us. They use this traditional way of cooking, like using big jar and wood. While waiting for the corn to be cooked, we decorated our plant =].

The process was somehow easy. But, since I am not an artist at all, so thats what I could make =]. It's using wood, string, clippers, and other pretty stuff =].
Plant were decorated, corns were cooked, it is time for dinner. We went to this unique place which serves 대나무밥 [Daenamu Pab] Bamboo rice. Yes, like its name, the rice is put inside the bamboo. It was really delicious and we ate it with beef =].

And oh, we can also write our name on the bamboo =]

We finished the day in a hotel, and ready for tomorrow =].

More pictures here.
